The True Meaning of Valentine’s Day

Two thousand years ago when Valentine’s Day began with a Roman soldier and his ultimate death, who would have imagined that love is celebrated with a box of Christopher Elbow chocolates?  Today, love has to be shown by giving the one you love something the both of you will love.  The next few days leading up to Tuesday, February 14th, retailers will be crowded, mostly by men, sales will be heavy, and pocketbooks will be emptied, all in anticipation of that special moment Tuesday morning when a box will be opened and a quick kiss will result.

Hopefully the item in the box will be long lasting, representing the lasting love that will hopefully result.  Flowers are nice but don’t last that long,  especially when the flower messenger has to walk outside in freezing temperatures for a few brief seconds and ultimately killing the vegetation in his hands.  Chocolates are also nice but won’t last more than a couple of days.  You also get fat eating chocolates.  More to love I suppose.  Lingerie and jewelry are popular but more expensive.  Expense brings the long lasting meaning of love that Valentine’s is meant to evoke.

Sterling Canyon guarantees kisses and the message that your love is meant to last a lifetime, and not just until the chocolate box is emptied.
